A dozen high school students from the Huntington, West Virginia, area recently participated in a summer journalism workshop at Marshall University funded by the Dow Jones News Fund.

As part of the workshop, students produced videos and stories about the opioid addiction epidemic.

Throughout the week, students attended lectures at Marshall University, visited The Herald-Dispatch newsroom, conducted interviews with local officials and first responders, wrote stories and recorded podcasts.
